Desa Water Park, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Splash Time - Taman Desa Water Park !

Desa Waterpark is situated at the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur, around 20 mins ride. To be very frank, the park looks a little bit run down :). If you compare it with other water parks in Malaysia, it wont steal your heart and will not certainly make to the top amusement parks list

May be it's not one of the best attractions near Kuala Lumpur but you may still enjoy it if you are looking for kids attractions in Kuala Lumpur. We went there with our 2 years old daughter and she seems to have a good time there. The park had water fall, wave pool and few other basic stuff to keep her entertain. What we really liked about the park was wave pool and slide.

Desa Water Park
Desa Water Park Attractions Include:

Action River: Although there is not much of action in the river but I liked it! Sometimes people do enjoy doing nothing right? :)

Raft Water Slide: There are two types of raft water slides in there one is covered and another one is half open. I guess the raft water slide in here is the longest in Asia!

Shock Wave: The wave pool will definitely give you feeling of a beach. The waves are very big and current pulls you further inside the poll.

Super Tube: As it was closed, we didn't get a chance to ride it.

Bubble Pool: A small pool with small rides, nothing much of special.

Rest of the rides were closed at our visiting day, damn!

How To Go To Desa Water Park

Desa Water Park location is not good for those who wishes to use public transaction. This place is only accessible by Car either taxi or self owned. There is no bus service to this place neither any kind of train service. Nearest LRT station is the Bukit Jalil which is itself not near by, by any mean! You can take a taxi from Kuala Lumpur to the Desa Water Park. From Bukit Bintang it costed us 20RM. From Kuala Lumpur Central Station it should not cost you more than 15RM.

Few things to take note of:
  • Desa Water Park KL is very small and basic water park. Don't even bother to put it in comparison with any other water park you have been.
  • Probably you might not get a taxi from Desa Waterpark to Kuala Lumpur. Every likely you may have to walk for 1/2 hour on a deserted road or three lane highway. Make your choice very carefully about transportation. One more thing, Desa Water Park staff will NOT book taxi for you!
  • Food was not good at all and if you are vegetarian you wont get anything in cafeteria beside potato chips :)
  • The locker can be operated one time only. Once you lock, you can not open it unless you are willing to pay again.
  • You will not be allowed to carry even a water bottle inside.
  • Make sure you have enough cash with you. There is no ATM machine anywhere near by. You might have to take taxi to go to the nearest ATM machine.
  • You can't use credit card here to pay for ticket! No credit card machine either.
  • Although the day we went there it was completely empty, beside few of us, but some one there told us this place gets hell of crowded at days. For the things like ticket and tube you might have to stand in queue for a long time and these queuing areas are not covered.
  • If you are looking for a place to celebrate some sort of large family event, you can book this water park! seriously, check their website for further details.

Desa Water Park ticket price will set you back by RM 40.

All in all we had a pretty good day. It may not be one of the best kids amusement parks around but it is good enough for them to get going.

Happy travelling...
